Power to the
software

Excellent dental treatments need balanced masticatory muscles.

Myowise software is a comprehensive tool for EMG based occlusion analysis and was built on solid and tested scientific ground. The world’s smallest wireless EMG system guides you in achieving a fine chewing muscles coordination, your patients will experience a superior masticatory comfort.

Coupling our advanced hardware with our powerful software we obtained a great new comprehensive solution. Guided procedures allow you to start your journey in to EMG based occlusion analysis regardless of previous experience, while advanced functions will satisfy more experienced and demanding users.
Myowise process can be summarized in these 4 steps:

Apply

The 4 sensors are quick and easy to position thanks to the step by step guide provided in the software.

Calibrate

The architecture of the software is based on the normalization of all data through a quick calibration process.

Analyse

All tests produce a variety of graphs and indices. Let the advanced algorithms help you give better clinical assessments.

Report

Customize the amount of information required and provide your patients with a complete report.

Easy positioning

A step by step guide included in the software takes you through the positioning process. Each sensor has a specific location and must be placed correctly on the muscle.

  • Sensor 1 – Right Temporal muscle
  • Sensor 2 – Left Temporal muscle
  • Sensor 3 – Left Masseter muscle
  • Sensor 4 – Right Masseter muscle

Calibration for data normalization

All output data is normalized through the calibration process. This phase consists of multiple maximum clenching recordings on cotton rolls and it’s required at the beginning of each new session.

  • Direct feedback and clear messages outline possible problems with the acquisition.
  • Automatic suggestions to improve test quality.
  • Intuitive 1 to 5 stars quality evaluation to help obtain more reliable calibration tests.
  • Validates sensor position and connection stability.

Good

This is the minimum recommended quality for calibrations and will produce reliable normalized results.

Better

Perfect calibrations guarantee the best possible results expressing the system’s full potential.

Choose your analysis

Myowise is a clinically comprehensive solution and allows you to choose between static and dynamic analysis.

Static

The static exam consists of a single 5 seconds maximum clenching with teeth in contact and produces a series of useful graphs and standardized indices.

Dynamic

The dynamic exam consists of two consecutive recordings, a 15 seconds mastication on the right side and another one on the left side of the mouth. This exam produces specific graphs and indices and globally explores the chewing action.

Analyse the results and plan the treatment

Discover all the information provided by Myowise’s exam summary. The layout is designed to be clear and intuitive and to give you a quick yet comprehensive view of the data.

Static exam output

All graphs and indices presented are backed by internationally recognized papers and studies.

Normalized muscle coordination

It expresses the standardized differential activity, attributable to dental proprioception.

Impact

Shows, through vertical bar graphs, the electrical activity of every muscle during the test with maximum clenching as a percentage of the activity expressed during the calibration on cotton rolls.

Compass

Shows in which occlusal areas the activities of the most unbalanced muscles take place. It allows access to the Virtual Assistant functionality.

Virtual Assistant

Thanks to its powerful computational engine, Myowise analyses the static exam results together with the morphological data of the patient and returns a feedback on the occlusal areas that could be cause of problematic situations.

Balance

Expresses, through the use of two horizontal bar graphs, the balance between the pairs of muscles on the same side.

Normalized indices

All the main useful indices are grouped and shown in a single panel.
– POC Temporals
– POC Masseters
– POC medium
– Asymmetrt
– Activation
– Torque

Warnings and suggestions

Shows all messages and warnings regarding the exam. In this way the User can clearly see if during the recording of the EMG signals particular or anomalous conditions have occurred.

Notes

Shows all the notes that the User entered immediately after the exam acquisition. This can be useful for keeping track of observations and feedback received by the Patient immediately after the exam performance.

Dynamic exam output

Mastication exams are also presented with an extensive series of graphs and indices.

Ellipse graph

The X axis represents the differential activity of the Masseters, while the Y axis represents the differential activity of the Anterior Temporals. A single point is generated during a single chewing stroke, this operation is repeated for each chewing act thus obtaining a cloud of identification points of the patient’s chewing dynamics. Then two ellipses, representative of the populations of points obtained from the acquisitions of the chewing acts, are generated.

Overlapped normalized signals

For both mastications, this graph shows the normalized signals of Temporal and Masseter muscles. The two sides are superimposed to each other, this allows to highlight the relationship between the left and right side muscles for each chewing stroke.

Normalized indices

All the main useful indices are grouped in a single panel. – Ellipse area
– Impact
– Working and balancing sides
– Module
– Acrophase
– Number of strokes and frequency
For more detailed information on the indices refer to the User Manual.
